QUESTION: WHO MAY PARTICIPATE IN THE NYDT PROGRAMMES?
Answer:
All students, from across all Continents, may participate in the programmes. This includes all school-, college- or university students
Any working person under the age of 29 may also participate
All career professionals and academics may also participate in the programme as mentors, coaches, advisors and/or project assessors.

QUESTION: HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO PARTICIPATE?
Answer: As non-profit organization, the NYDT may not make any profit. All funding is obtained through teaching fees, and sponsorships.
The NYDT fee structure consists of the following:
STUDENT FEE
Discovery Science Competition: The NYDT provides assistance with the identification of research topics, management of projects and the assessment of research work
- Individual fee for assistance in projects [1 year period]: SA Rand 100 [USU $ 15]
Certificate for Information Dynamics: The NYDT provides assistance with the
- identification of research topics, management of projects and the assessment of research work
- appointment of study leaders that will assist students with advice and mentoring
- protection of copyright and personal rights that apply to the students' research work
- Fee for 2 year period: SA Rand 1500 [USU $ 190]
SCHOOL AFFILIATION:
Schools or Science clubs may affiliate to the Africa and Commonwealth Science Development Programme:
The Annual affiliation fee is: SA Rand R1,000 [USA $ 130] per year
Benefits for affiliation:

The NYDT assists the school with the design, management and assessment of a science programme for the school

The NYDT assists the school with the identification of research topics for students

The NYDT assists the school with fundraising for science based school activities

Teachers and students qualify for selection to participate in the Discovery Science Competition, and students who are selected for international participation qualify for South African colours for International Science Based Competition
NOTE: School students who live and go to school and schools located in such areas may approach the NYDT for advice and/or assistance.
