Reaching Out to the Needy ...

Reaching out ….

Vision of the NYDT’s Outreach Programme

Many young students dream of following a successful career after leaving school.

But they live and go to school in disadvantaged school communities, where they attend under-resourced classrooms and are not able to enjoy the cutting edge technology students have in well-resourced schools.

Teachers and parents are also not empowered to promote the careers of our Emerging Scientists.

In this way our emerging scientists are left behind …

The NYDT vision encapsulates the scenario where all students in South Africa have equal access to learning opportunities.

Mission of the NYDT’s Outreach Programme

  • ·        To build a Bridge between the disadvantaged student who studies in the under-resourced classroom environment and Mainstream Science.
  • ·       To create a development platform for emerging scientists - who live and go to school in disadvantaged school communities - that will enable them to enter the World Of the Mainstream Scientist where they will be able to compete on equal footing with their peers in South Africa and on other Continents

The NYDT Outreach Programme assists students and teachers in disadvantaged school communities in their quest for quality education.
